History
HillHouse is a 56-room assisted living facility on a twenty acre wooded
parcel overlooking beautiful Whiskeag Pond in Bath, Maine. Owned and operated by the
Voorhees Family for nearly 50 years, HillHouse specializes in Aging-In-Place: compassionate
and personalized assistance for all levels of elder care, emphasizing the preservation of
each residents independence, dignity and safety through the aging process.
Our facility, a combination of new construction and a renovated 19th-century homestead,
offers private rooms with kitchenettes as well as semi-private rooms, all in a tranquil
country setting. Our sunlit dining room overlooks the pond, fields and gardens. We serve
a variety of home-style meals using fresh and natural ingredients.
What sets HillHouse apart from other elder care facilities? Our small size allows us to cater
care to each individual resident. For example, pets are welcome at HillHouse, and visitors are
always welcome to dine with residents, free of charge. The atmosphere at HillHouse is less like
a facility, and more like a family. We welcome short and long term respite stays.
